I have been a WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers®) member on and off since 2008. The last time that I rejoined WW was in 2011 and it was then that I met one of the most amazing and inspirational people that would play a big part in my journey. Additionally, I connected with those at my 7am Saturday morning meeting. And, lastly, I stayed connected with those people and everyone else that went to my leader’s meeting throughout the week in a private Facebook group. WW has helped show me how to balance my life with healthy eating and those food choices that might otherwise be eliminated entirely from most diet regimens.
Tracking my food and watching what I eat so closely through keeping a food log (and assigning it points values), PLUS the weekly in-person meetings has given me the support and guidance I so desperately need. I like to equate my WW membership and weekly meetings to my necessary weekly AA meeting. “Hello, I’m Kristina and I’m addicted to food.” (“Hellooooooo, Kristinaaaaaaa…”)
It truly helps with the hard part. And in December 2017, WW rolled out their new Freestyle program which was the direction I needed towards even healthier choices and a bigger picture look at this journey as a whole—Food, Fitness, Fulfillment.
